The wait is over,SZA’s “The Weekend” video directed by Solange is finally here

Much loved track “The Weeknd” off of SZA‘s critically acclaimed debut album CTRL finally gets a music video to go along with.

The wait is over. For those of you who’ve been obsessed with SZA for a while, you already know she was about to drop a video for “The Weekend”. The sensual visuals directed by Saint Heron’s very own Solange have SZA dancing in various empty wide spaces (a balcony, a parking deck…) while wearing the sexiest outfits ever.
The clip opens and closes with the text “one opted out, an imbalance of power, shifted the whole tide, it waved and waved”, the only direct reference to the track’s subject, which has been much discussed the the album dropped back in June.

Much like her TDE label-mate Kendrick Lamar, SZA’s been having an amazing year. Lately she modeled for Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty new lipstick line and she also received five Grammy nominations including Best New Artist, Best Urban Contemporary Album, Best R&B Song for “Supermodel,” Best R&B Performance for “The Weekend,” and Best Rap/Sung Performance for “Love Galore” featuring Travis Scott.
